This Friday and Saturday nights the New Hampshire Wildcats swept the
Northeastern Huskies by scores of 5-2 (Friday) and 5-1 (Saturday). These
games were very important to both teams, for it looks like both teams are
fighting for spaces in the NC$$ playoffs. The two wins for New Hampshire
were very big, for they absolutely needed these points in what is shaping
up to be a close race to the finish near the top in Hockey East standings.

As reported from Deron Treadwell (?) the magic number for Maine
is now only 10 (two wins). With Maine facing UMass-Lowell this week (a
team which has proven that they can come up with big wins) and a very
important game against UNH in Portland the next weekend, their possible
first place finish in Hockey East is anything but set in stone. The only
thing standing in the way of these two teams is Boston Univ.
The race for these three teams should prove to be exciting, fast
paced and huge "crowd-getters."

Other notes about the 'Cats of UNH...
                - UNH killed it's 66th consecutive penalty "situation" last
night vs Northeastern.
                - UNH's "Erics" are shaping up to be quite the family
                - Mowers- 'nuff said
