UNH beat Clarkson 4-2 last night to capture the title of the
Syracuse Invitational. UNH jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first
period on goals by Steve Pleau and Brian Muir. The Cats extended their
lead to 3-0 in the second on a goal by Todd Hall. Clarkson responded
1:06 later on a one timer from Claude Morin. Erik Nickulas finished off
scoring for UNH in the third and clarkson would get one more by David
Seitz to make the final tally 4-2.
UNH goaltender Trent Cavicchi was named tournament MVP, and
selected to the all tourney team along with teamates Todd Hall and Mark
Mowers.

UNH is currently unbeaten in their last eleven games (9-0-2) and
winners of their last five. The month of january will be the real test
for the Wildcats though, they meet BU three times this month starting Jan
6 at BU.
