University Terriers. Dan Shermerhorn scored two goals, including the
winner, and Chris Imes had four assists in the game. Maine was down 3-1,
and 4-2, battling back to tie both times. BU led 5-4 till just under :30
left in the game when Dave MacIsaac scored to send the game into overtime.
Other Maine players scoring goals Sunday night: Purdie, Conlan and Frenette.
Friday night Maine beat Notre Dame 4-1. Jason Mansoff and Brad
Purdie each had two assists, as Dan Shermerhorn, Shawn Wansborough, Scott
Parmentier, and Reg Cardinal notched goals.
Blair Allison was strong Friday night stopping 27 shots, and many of
his 22 saves against Boston University where of the quality variety.

THIS WEEK:
Boston University comes up to the Alfond Arena, to play the host
Black Bears Friday and Saturday night. Saturday night's game will be
broadcasted on the Channel 2 in Bangor, Channel 6 in Portland, and WABU-68
in Boston. Maine currently holds a seven point advantage in Hockey East
over the Terriers as the two teams come into this crucial early season matchup.

NOTES:
        * The surprising Maine Black Bears have amassed their 10-0-3 record
primarily on the road. Maine is 6-0-3 on the road this year.
        * Maine again showed it's patient disiplined play against BU, even
though several early power-plays were negated because of Maine penalties,
Maine never got frustrated even trailing by two goals twice to the team that
was #1 in two of four major polls.
        * Maine was ranked 4th in this weeks WMEB Poll, which came out as
Maine and BU tipped it off Sunday night, BU was 1st. Don't be surprised to
see a flip next week.
