An interesting argument, but MSU does NOT fit in this group for one reason:
They HAVE played established D-1 programs this year. They had two ties at
Minnesota, they had two close losses to North Dakota, and played almost
half of a WCHA schedule (I believe 10 or 12 games). And now they have
beaten ND on their home ice. Mankato is establishing themselves as a
legitimate D-1 program, not waiting for some tournament committee to give
it to them.
