I am not going to make a habit of sending out 2 in 2 days, but here
is another TCHCR. The only difference from the 12/14 version is
one game, NMU's 4-3 win at Minnesota on Sunday.
I want to point on some very important differences. First, notice
that ALL of the ratings changed! Everyone is connected to everyone
else, so everyone's rating is dependant on everyone else.
Here are some rating changes of note:
Michigan - 0.28
Yale - 0.06
Maine - 0.08
Lake Superior + 0.26
Clarkson - 0.07
Mich State - 0.01
Minnesota - 2.20
Anchorage - 0.44
North Mich + 2.35
North Dakota - 0.01
Wisconsin + 0.32
Denver + 0.21
Colo College + 0.78
It should be obvious why NMU was the big winner and Minnesota the
big loser. But why did CC jump up so much? Because they have played
NMU *4 times* and UM *0 times*. You can see which teams have played
NMU & UM in non-conference games: Michigan & Anchorage have seen
UM (rating fell by over 0.25) and LSSU played NMU (rating climbed
by over 0.25). Teams like Yale, Maine, Clarkson and MSU are starting
to get more "distant" from these two teams and their ratings did
not change much (less than 0.1).
North Dakota's small drop is weird because they have played UM
twice but not NMU at all. I would have suspected a larger drop,
but some of their loss was offset by Denver's rise (who they have
already met 4 times) and CC's upward turn (who they've seen twice).
All this from just 1 game. Hopefully, you can see that A LOT is
going on here. Much more than my brain can handle at this time,
anyway. G'nite.
