That is absolutely true.!!! When at Union we had practices (usually 2 weeks
before the real ones) that were run by a student figure skater, who whipped
us into shape!! She ran power skating drills that would make your legs burn
within seconds!!!!
It was pretty much a conditioning camp, run "through" the captains under the
{non} direct instructions of the ex-coach Mr. Delventhal. I am quite sure
this is common among most major college hockey programs.
