Mike Crowley's goal and two assists brought his season total to 55 points,
breaking Billy Baker's single-season record for points by a defenseman set
in 1978-79.
John Gilbert's observation on Jay Moser's goal to give the Gophers a 3-2 lead:
"That goal meant Moser, Bonin or Rasmussen - linemates on the Gophers first
line - had scored or assisted on five straight Gophers goals, 11 of the
last 12, and 18 of the last 21." (Quoted from
http://www.startribune.com/online/ddd/upuk02.htm)
I think that says a lot about the Gophers' problems lately. The stats
don't suggest the Gophers' February nosedive should affect Bonin's Hobey
candidacy. (As has been suggested on this list.) They suggest that the
second, third and fourth liners haven't been lighting the lamp.
