Apologies for clogging up the list, but this still strikes me as
so unusual...

When I was in elementary school, my dad received a promotion but
it meant moving from Ann Arbor to Traverse City, Michigan (about
240 miles northwest). At that time, there was a semi-pro team in
TC called the Traverse City Bays. Apparently, the Bays weren't
doing too well financially and didn't have a real full schedule
because my dad hired the players to come down to Ann Arbor, pack
our belongings, load them into a truck, drive them to Traverse City
and unload them into the new place...all in the middle of January.

I remember going the see "the guys who moved us" a couple of times.
A few years later, my high school beat Saginaw Arthur Hill 49-0 (on
the road!) and I was hooked on hockey. At the time, it was touted
as a record for most one-sided victory.

Goofy.
