Whew!  What a game.  Miami drew first blood at 0:14 in the first period as
Brian Savage sliped one between the pipes assisted by Bobby Marshall and Chris
Bergeron.  After this tremendous blast the game settled down to a hard fought
contest for over 16 minutes.  Then at 16:42 in the first period, Michigan
scored on a powerplay goal by David Oliver from Brian Wiseman and David
Roberts.
 
At 13:00 in the second period Miami struck again when Kevyn Adams scored with
assists from Dan Daikawa and Marc Boxer.  Michigan answered this goal at 7:48
in the third peroid with David Roberts scoring from Mark Ouimet.  Miami went
ahead at 14:10 with a goal by Brian Savage from Bobby Marshall.  However,
Michigan quickly evened the score at 15:05 when Mike Knuble scored assisted by
Brian Wiseman.
 
The game was finally decided in Miami's favor at 1:00 in overtime when Jason
Mallon delt the final blow with assists from Kevyn Adams and Marc Boxer.
 
The goalees were Richard Shulmistra for Miami and Steve Shields for Michigan.
Shots on goal: Miami 25, Michigan 32.  There was a capacity crowd of over 3000
at Miami's Goggin Arena (the arena seats 2400) and over 3000 people were turned
away.
 
With this win, Miami is remains in first place in the CCHA and is 3 points
ahead of both Michigan and Lake Superior.  Also, Miami is now 10-0-2 at home.
