Haven't seen this posted yet, so here goes:

Saturday night was the annual Cornell Men's Hockey banquet, at which a few
awards were given, and next year's captains were named:

Bill Doran Sportmanship Award - Jeff Buroyne, Jr. D

Wendell Earle Memorial Award - Ryan Smart, Sr. F
This award went to the player who best embodied the spirit of
college athletics and the term "student-athlete"

The Joe Dilibero-Stan Tsapis Award - Darren Tymchyshyn, Sr. F
Presented to the player who most nearly exeplifies the skilled
efficiency, unselfish dedication and hard-nosed competitive applications
that distinguishes him as representative of Joe Dilibero's and Stan Tsapis'
uniqueness.

The Cornell Hockey Boosters Award - Jeff Oates, Jr. F
Presented to the player whose contribution to the team is not
apparent in box scores. His efforts are more clearly measured in
enthusiasm, dedication, desire, and unselfish willingness to give the team
an extra ounce of energy.

The coaches choose this moment to half joke that he satisfied all
the criteria except not showing up in the box score and that he now shows
signs of becoming a natural goal scorer.

Sam Woodside Award - Jason Elliott, Sr. G
To the senior who has most improved overall playing ability.

Mark Weiss Memorial Award - Jason Dailey, Sr. D
        Determination and Passion.

The Iron Man Award - Dave Adler, So. D
To the player who overcame his injuries the most to contribute.
Adler received this award while wearing a cast on his arm from wrist
surgery, and is to have back surgery within a few weeks.

Crimson Cup Award - Andrew McNiven, Fr. F
Given to the player who performs best in the season series vs.
Harvard. Yes, there's an award for that. That's hatred for an opponent.

Greg Ratushny Award - Larry Pierce, Fr. D
The freshman who best exhibits enthusiasm for both the team and
Cornell University; cameraderie with his teamates and fellow students; and
promise for the future.

Nicky Bawlf Award - Jason Elliott, Sr. G
        MVP as voted by teamates.

Next year's Captains:

C - Kyle Knopp '99
A - Jeff Burgoyne '99
A - Jeff Oates '99

Larry Weintraub '98,
Cornell University
Let's Go BIG RED!!!!!

Quote of the Semester:
"They wear their hearts on their sleeves here at Cornell...and also
their faces."

-- TV Announcers at the Cornell-Colgate game,
while the camera was in a close-up on my painted face.
