It looks like we might have a women's national title game this coming
season.  The USA Hockey National Collegiate Championship may happen the
weekend of March 21st, which is a week after the ECAC League Championship
final.  It appears four teams could be involved: the ECAC League Title
winner - ECAC League Champion (play-offs) and two at large bids (perhaps
the ECAC League second or third place finishers and a midwest
representative (Augsburg, Minnesota ...?)).
 
Right now this is in the planning stages.  If it happens and I get details
on the first national title match I will post them to Hockey-L.
 
Wow - what a great step forward this would be!  Perhaps a national title
would get a few more schools to go for full varsity programs.
