What sweet revenge tonight for the Terriers and all the Terrier
faithful as BU soundly defeated Lake Superior State by a score of 6-2!!! What
a great game it was, and it flowed very well as thye referees simply let the
players play the game. BU arguably played the best game of their season so
far, as they really took it to the Lakers from the opening faceoff. The
Terriers showed no signs of tentativeness whatsoever, and they even scored
first, the first time the Terriers led the Lakers in two years.
BU led 2-0 after two on goals by Chris Drury and Kaj Linna, and they
continued their aggressive play in the third, scoring 4 times, one an empty
netter by Linna with 5 seconds left on a shot from behind his own net. I
don't know all the stats for the game, but Linna ended up with a hat trick,
along with goals by Drury, Rich Brennan, and Shawn Bates. Tom Noble played an
excellent game in net for the Terriers, giving up two quick ones in the third,
but otherwise stoning the Soo Lakers.
Well, I'll let others post all the details, but these were just a few
of the highlights. BU played a great game, and defeated a very good Laker
team. On to Providence!!!
