If this is how they are billing it, then someone needs to be set
straight...the Hobey presentation has been open to the public for at
least several years.  Of course, you had to find out where it was
happening first. :-)
 
I don't think anyone will forget the hundreds of Maine fans crowded
into the presentation room in Milwaukee when Paul Kariya won it in
1993.  In contrast, it was disappointing that last year, there was
hardly anyone there when Chris Marinucci received the award.  You
could have walked in five minutes before the presentation began and
grabbed a front row seat.
 
But again, it seemed that almost no one knew about the event.  Maybe
this is what they mean by billing this year's presentation as the
first one open to the public - the first where they actually tell
people where it is. :-)
