Miami defeated Lake Superior State in another thriller at Goggin Arena. The
game was a nailbiter to the end, including a penalty shot with 51.5
seconds to go in the third. Down 2-1, the Lakers put a flurry on the Miami net
which ended in a Redskin covering the puck in the crease. The ref awarded a
penalty shot. The Lakers sent out Sean Tallaire to take the shot. However,
goalie Chuck Thuss stopped Tallaire's shot to preserve the win. Thuss received
the #1 star of the game.
As for scoring, Andrew Miller scored his first two even-strength goals of the
season 8 minutes apart in the second period. Mike Morin scored the Lakers lone
tally 7 minutes into the third. John Grahame tended the Lakers' net tonight.
The two teams meet for the final regualar season meeting next Saturday at Sault
St. Marie.
