       HOCKEY WINS AT FRAMINGHAM STATE, 3-2
FRAMINGHAM, MA-The 100th career point for senior forward Joe Hill (Newburyport, MA/Valley Jr. Warriors) of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth's hockey team was a big one.
Hill won a crucial third period face off in the Corsairs’ defensive zone, then took a drop pass from senior forward Jason Stahl (Londonderry, NH/Valley Jr. Warriors) and fired home the game-winning goal at 11:35 of the third period as UMass Dartmouth rallied to score three goals in the third period and came from behind to defeat host Framingham State, 3-2, in a Massachusetts Collegiate Athletic Conference game at the Loring Ice Arena Thursday evening.

Trailing, 1-0, after two periods, the Corsairs tied the score on a goal by sophomore forward Dave McDonald (Wakefield, MA/Valley Jr. Warriors) 1:26 into the third period. Stahl converted passes from Hill and sophomore forward Dan Dempsey (Norwell, MA/Lebanon Valley) at 2:46 to put the Corsairs ahead, 2-1, but Peter Baldwin tied the score for the Rams at 9:11, setting the stage for Hill’s game-winning goal. Eric Ward’s goal at 6:00 of the first period had given FSU the early lead. 
“It was good to win,” said UMass Dartmouth Head Coach John Rolli. “Having last week off was beneficial to us in terms of helping us recover from some injuries, but we struggled early in the game, over handling the puck and turning it over. We came back strong with three goals in the third period to pull out the victory. The sign of a good team is how to pull out a win when you don’t have your best night, and we did that tonight.”

The Corsairs out shot the Rams, 27-25. Senior goaltender Collin Tracy (Medford, MA/Medford HS) made 23 saves for UMass Dartmouth, while Terence Sullinvan made 24 stops for Framingham State.
UMD improved to 17-6-1 and 12-4-1 in the MASCAC with the victory, while FSU fell to 4-18-1 and 4-13-1 with the defeat. UMass Dartmouth, which clinched a first-round bye in next week’s MASCAC playoffs with the victory, will return to action when they visit Fitchburg State Saturday. The game was the final action of the regular season for Framingham State.
