I was at Milwaukee in 1993 and Betty, my wife, and I wandered around the
city on Friday, as it was the first nice day since we had arrived. We
eventually ended up at the Hilton (yes Mike, it was the Hilton). I thought
about attending the award ceremony, and there were signs leading to it, but
since 1) we arrived at the Hilton after Paul was announced as the winner,
and 2) the room was packed, we did not go in. Paul was speaking at the time.

Last year at St. Paul I knew when and where the award was to be presented,
so again we wandered over to the hotel in question. We arrived early, and
as Betty did not wish to wait, we wandered around St. Paul's skyway for a
while. We arrived back at the hotel just as Chris Marinucci was announced
as the winner. We hung around in the back of the room (a small romm
compared to the one at the Hilton in 1993) and after a while we became bored
and left. I did get one of the official press packets, but I waited until
everyone else appeared to have a chance to get one.

Since the Championship is in Providence this year I will not be in the city
on Friday, as I will drive down and home on Thursday and Saturday. If I was
though, I would be very upset that the organizers of the 'fan fair' are
charging $5 (with coupon) to see the presentation.

As for the 'fan fair' itself, I have either read or heard that they are
attempting to increase the college hockey content. First, the "College
Hockey Museum" (? Anyone know where it is?) is know supposed to have a
number of items on display at the 'fair'. Second, the Hobey Baker trophy,
the NCAA Championship trophy, and the Beanpot (huh?) will be on display.
