Free online courses, webinars and headsets!

 

Today is the official launch of the WebJunction Maine website, the place
for online learning for all Maine librarians. WebJunction ME, WJ-Maine,
or even WJ-ME also refers to WebJunction Maine - the Learning Center for

Today Maine librarians can register for free online courses.  Once
registered, log in and click on courses.  You will see that all the
course prices say "free".  These courses are free only to the Maine
library community (librarians, library staff, trustees, etc.  - not
patrons) and are paid for by the Maine State Library's WebJunction
Community Partnership.  It is recommended that you only sign up for one
course at a time. So please complete a course before you sign up for
another!

Attend a WebJunction webinar! The Maine State Library will be sponsoring
webinars with a schedule going up sometime in July. Check the online
calendar for webinars and other events happening across the state for
Maine's library community.

Currently WebJunction is offering a webinar called Introduction to

The webinars are held in Live Space, a web-conferencing tool with our
community partnership.  To fully participate you need a headset with a
microphone to fully utilize the "voice over IP" (VOIP) function.

 

Exciting announcement!  

The Maine State Library (MSL) was approved to use Rural Sustainability
grant funds to purchase headsets with microphones. The MSL will be
distributing the first round of headsets to public libraries who
participated in the Rural Sustainability grant through the Gates
Foundation.
