The Research Institute for Public Libraries – Maine Regional Training
Launched in 2015 by the Colorado State Library (CSL) and the Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC), the Research Institute for Public Libraries (RIPL) is a singular event for public library leaders and others interested in public library data and evaluation. In this immersive, bootcamp-style event, participants learn practical, strategic methods of gathering, analyzing, and using data for planning, management, and communicating impact.
With the generous support of the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the Maine State Library will host a two-day version of the national data boot camp to provide the data and evaluation training necessary to begin using data to plan for your library’s future.
RIPL-Maine will be held August 14-15 at the Jordan Hotel & Conference Center at Sunday River, Newry, ME.
50 participants from New England public libraries will engage in two days of hands-on, intensive workshops with Colorado’s esteemed RIPL trainers about:
•Designing outcome-based evaluation of programs and services
•Assessing the needs of your community
•Techniques for tracking public library data and using these data for planning, management, and demonstrating the library's worth
•Using data and stories to document the impact of your library
Participants will walk away from the RIPL Regional with tools for evaluation, confidence in building research into their activities, and a network of colleagues for future learning and success.
We are limited to 50 participants from the New England region – so register now<http://root.evanced.info/maine/evanced/eventsignup.asp?ID=4221&rts=&disptype=&ret=eventcalendar.asp&pointer=&returnToSearch=&num=0&ad=&dt=mo&mo=8/1/2017&df=calendar&EventType=ALL&Lib=&AgeGroup=&LangType=0&WindowMode=&noheader=&lad=&pub=1&nopub=&page=&pgdisp=>!
