Adding my voice to the many who have already chimed in here: The MLA tool Nissa links to below makes this process quick and easy; I just sent off a letter in five minutes.
I'd encourage you to share this tool and issue with your Trustees, Friends groups, and other active library stakeholders, especially patrons.
Tailor your message: what resonates most in your community? Public internet from MSLN? Readalike or Lexile information from Novelist? Access to academic journals, Consumer Reports? There are opportunities to talk about this critical issue each and every time you walk someone through MARVEL or logging on to a computer on the MSLN network. Time to rally!

Subject: [MELIBS-L] LD256 Action Link for Public Distribution - Urgent!
Hello!
MLA has set up an online campaign to help the public express their support of LD256!
Head to http://cqrcengage.com/alame/ - the top event is Act Now to Save MSLN and MARVEL! One link is to call, the other to email.
All one needs to do is fill in the brief form including address to get the phone numbers or email form for your appropriate Maine House Representative. Talking points are included, but please add your own story about how MARVEL or your MSLN connection make a difference in your community, and spread the link far and wide to your trustees, friends, and patrons.
Using this tool is easy - talking points and contact information are bundled together for quick and easy advocacy. Please take a moment to call or email, then forward this link to your network!
Best,
Nissa Flanagan
MLA Past President
