Hi everyone,

I'm finally getting a chance to teach information literacy/research skills
on a more scheduled basis next year (yay!).

However, I am now tasked with trying to figure out how much time I need to
teach it. Admin has asked me to figure out approx. how many *hours *I would
need so they can figure out the schedule.

I'm going to be working with 5th grade, possibly 6th grade as well.

We are using the Big6 framework so I'm looking at the possibility of
teaching them keyword searching, website evaluation, note taking, using our
library to find sources, citation, etc. Best case scenario is that I get to
do this within the context of an actual research assignment within one of
their core classes but that's a bit out of my hands. I know *what* I need
to teach them, I just don't know *how much time* to ask for in order to do
it thoroughly.

Does anyone have a sample scope and sequence they use or something similar
I could look at or does anyone have an idea of how much time it takes you *in
hours* to cover all of those areas? Also, do you do this over the course of
the year or during a semester and then follow up in the classrooms the rest
of the year?
