*Government Relations Update*

Tomorrow, November 8th, is Election Day! COE encourages everyone in the
TRIO community to go out and exercise their civil right at the ballot box!
The outcome of the 2016 election will determine not only who occupies the
White House but also who sits in the U.S. Congress and several local
elected positions. Visit www.vote.org
<http://t.congressweb.com/l/?LJMZOPXWPKJUISM> to check your voter
registration status and to learn more about the various candidates for
office and ballot initiatives in your community. Interested in getting
information about student voting on campus? Click here
<http://t.congressweb.com/l/?LJMZOPXWPKVEBXF> to get state-specific student
voting guides to ensure that your students have full voting access.

Next week following the election, Congress will return and move towards
making its final decision about TRIO funding in FY 2017. Stay tuned for
more updates about TRIO advocacy in the days ahead. In the meantime, keep
sharing your advocacy efforts during this election season using the hashtag
#TRIOWORKS across social media. If you need any assistance, please don’t
hesitate to contact Kimberly Jones ([log in to unmask]) or Selene
Ceja ([log in to unmask]) by e-mail or phone (202.347.7430).
