Karl (I assume that's you at the other end...)--I'm pretty
comfortably certain that I'm signed on to MeFind, but it's rejecting
my posts. Could you please oblige and post this for me? Many
To the MeFind list-- I have a faculty member who is looking for the
text of a broadcast Albert Schweitzer made in Oslo in 1957, called the
"Declaration of Conscience" (not to be confused with Margaret
Smith's speech of the same name). I have combed all the standard
Schweitzer websites, and have found mention of the fact that Norman
Cousins published it in _The Saturday Review_ (alas, nothing more
specific than that...).
My Reader's Guide only kicks in in 1959, and the piece is not
mentioned in the later indexes. A keyword search of Ursus brought up
many titles by Schweitzer, but nothing obviously containing this
piece. Might anyone out there be able to help me find this, either in
an anthology or in one of the longer-running periodical collections?
Many, many thanks for any assistance you can provide--GMA Gretchen
