Hello NEOA,

The Talent Search Award Notifications came out on July 15, 2016 with only
325 Talent Search Programs funded and only 75 new programs out of the 325.
5 years ago we had 449 Talent Search Programs funded, that’s not to say
that this is it. We have to wait for the dust to settle as we are of
course hoping to have all of our NE Talent Search programs funded. The
Council for Opportunity in Education (our voice in political matters) is
expecting that the ED will be releasing the funding band programs, that is,
the programs that scored high enough for an appeal but not high enough to
be funded in the first round. COE believes that the cut off score was 106,
this could be higher but not set in stone. There are also programs that
have a 6th year and will be ending in 2017 that have not been released by
ED as well. COE does not know when ED will release those programs. That’s
all I have for now. I’ll keep you posted.
