There's a certain desperation in the Neo-Formalist camp that
is akin to the Langpos. They want acceptance at the
imaginative level but they have produced no viable canon of
work. There's little poetic talent there and one clearly
sees that neo-formalism's failure might arise not so much
from the artificial nature of the forms as from the
appetites of its adherents. Imaginative poets are most often
not reactionaries any longer. Reaction now has developed so
many devastatingly hegemonic forums and contexts for
appropriated wealth that the uselessness of poetry appears
most acute there.

I've been down this tired, rutted road with some of these
folks before. CP
