You can get to Rapallo easily from Florence because of the excellent train
system in Italy. I've been there twice, I talked to Dr. Giuseppe
Bacigalupo, Pound's physician, and saw the flat from the outside only. I
also went to visit Casa 60 when they were in the process of remodeling, and
then later, after they remodeled. A visit to Rapallo is a good idea for
Poundians as it is the Mediterranean landscape that occurs so often in The
Cantos. There is also the Yeats apartment, later occupied by Pound's
parents.

Olga's house has been completely redone and is, I believe, rented out. I
got to see it before it was remodeled. It was a very simple house with,
essentially, three rooms, one on top of the other, very small and modest,
but in a great location. I recommend staying at Pensione da Cici, fifty
meters from the house in the Dorsoduro section and seeing the many Pound
sites in Venice.

Buon viaggio!

  Thanks Grace and Tim,

As I have some spare time in Florence I was just thinking of making it to
the castle in a day from laziness mainly, not having to find anywhere else
to stay, etc. But I'm sure I can find another day or two up my sleeve to do
it properly.
