Hi Michelle,
I’m sorry to hear that you are having difficulties obtaining the funds. So frustrating. I will definitely post the outcome of our application with Kennebunk Savings Bank. Hang in there! 😊

Subject: Re: [MELIBS-L] Paycheck Protection Program

HI Lydia,
We applied through our bank, TD Bank on April 10 and received a generic email a week later about the money running out. We have not heard anything since more money was appropriated for the program. I am not authorized to get information from the bank and it seems the President of the board has not been able to get an update.
I would be interested to know how many libraries in Maine have been successful in getting funding through the PPP.
Michelle

Good morning,
I’m wondering if there are any libraries out there that have applied for the PPP?
My Board was asking me yesterday what other local libraries where doing regarding the PPP.
We are in a unique situation compared to my closest local libraries. We do not receive full funding for our operating budget from our town, so right now we are currently totally dependent on our trust funds until this fall. The stock market has taken a serious downturn in the last couple months, which has diminished our ability to pay our staff. I had to lay off/furlough my whole staff in mid- March. To my knowledge we are the only
library in the local area with lay-off/ furloughed staff. I would appreciate any feedback from other libraries who may be in the same boat. Thank you! 😊
