Here are some news and notes gleaned from Larry Mahoney's BDN article today:
- Maine will play at Cornell with 4 full lines, but only 5 defensemen due to
injuries and suspensions. According to Mahoney, here is the run-down on the
missing players:
Niko Dimitrakos - mandatory one game suspension for fighting vs. Lowell
Friday, will return to the lineup Friday against Brown.
Cliff Loya - will serve the second game of his two game suspension
Tuesday, will be available for the weekend.
Peter Metcalf - injured, twisted a knee and will miss 2-3 weeks.
Brendan Donovan - injured, has a kidney problem and is having it
evaluated. Is expected out at least 1-2 weeks according to Mahoney.
Maine will insert Mike Mantenuto and Cameron Lyall into the lineup Tuesday.
Kevin Clausson will move back to the blueline if necessary (he was
originally a defenseman, converted to forward).
Wayne expects a Maine blow out, which is still possible, but the Black Bears
will have to do it short-handed.
