Pawel,
What do you mean- no dragons in America. We got everything.
No kidding, see http.//www.neara.org/ROS/dragon.htm.
Philostratus writes of Apollonius of Tyana's report, Book III, of these
India dragons who have mystical gems in their heads which appear to 'possess
a mstical power such as resided in the ring, which belonged to Gyges."
This is reminiscent of the Germanic Sigurd legend, the Ring being the
item of central importance of the whole treasure. Again similar is the
legend in Apollonius to the Sigurd one that "one may "acquire an
understanding of the language and ideas of animals by feeding on the heart
or the liver of the dragon."
What's for dinner?
