thanks for clarification.  Perhaps we should also add to our list of sun-songs "Cantico del Sole," attributed to St Francis, and translated by EP.  In fact, meter, melody, melissamissamissimi aside, our poet EP had an affinity for the sun, didn't he?

The hymn to the sun ascribed to Mesomedes (floruit under Hadrian, early 2nd
c. AD is preserved with musical notation in a Byzantine MS. It has no
relation to the Homeric Hymn to Helios.
