Dear Mr. Edwards:
        I fully agree that my friend,Leon Surette's comment about the
negligence of British scholars toward Pound and American literature is off
the mark. If British work on Williams, Eliot, James, etc, were
considered,the long list of British Americanists could be indefinitely
extended, and would include the writers of some very distinguished work.
