Whether or not Pound would have expressed himself specifically in terms of
Gestalt theory I don't know, but I think that a combination of his political
leanings, his Imagist ideas about reduction and minimalism and the deep
Modernist concerns with fragmentation and with awareness of history would
inevitably have combined into something like Gestalt. The question remains,
is the result of this combination greater than the sum of the constituent
parts?...
