Good Morning,
Well now that I ranted on another discussion list topic that had
insinuated that the Maine pep band may not have been at the Frozen Four
in St. Paul, replaced by a high school band, not the case, let me do
some raving.
For those of you planning to trek to Rochester and the Blue Cross Arena
I have a local establishment that is a must to recommend. The Dinosaur
Barbecue http://www.dinosaurbarbque.com/rochesterIndex.php is located
just over the Genesee river from the Blue Cross Arena. It is a must.
Just walk over the bridge on Court Street and get their early!!!!!!!
There is a decent bar, but not really a sports bar, the food is
plentiful, but waits can be an hour when their is nothing going on and
they don't take reservations! My brother lives in Rochester, and I
have some other recommendations if you are headed out with kids, or
look for a side trip, like the Eastman House.
Unfortunately I will not be making this trip, six hours in a car and
two hockey games are not exactly prescribed medication for a herniated
disk. BUT I am working out a deal with my brother who is a UNH grad.
He'll wear a UNH jersey and cheer for Maine, and in turn I will wear a
Maine jersey and cheer for UNH (at least if they play BC) in
Manchester!
So if you see someone in a UNH jersey with a big head of grey hair,
(for those of you that know me pause for laughter) be respectful he is
on our side!!!!!!!
And raise a toast and some ribs for me at the Dinosaur! Hope to see
many of you in St. Louis!
