Falmouth Memorial Library is hiring three (3) part-time circulation positions for our newly renovated Library. Our expanded library now has four public service desks, including a Youth Services desk, Adult Services desk, a new Information desk, and a Circulation desk. Our library staff work together as a team across service areas to ensure the best experience for everyone using our library. The Library has been closed to the public during the move back to the new space, and we expect to re-open for curbside services beginning in mid-September.

Our staff are the ambassadors to our library and need to be welcoming, friendly, and able to help patrons navigate our library. Our circulation staff will need to understand patrons needs and connect them to the correct staff member or public service desk. We are looking for staff who understand that our library's users come first, can easily handle detailed work while having constant interruptions and still maintain a friendly and helpful demeanor.

Circulation Assistants will work with our Circulation Manager to provide efficient, friendly customer service to our community. Previous customer service experience of at least two years is preferred, public library experience is a plus.

Computer literacy, including working knowledge of PC operating systems, e-readers, tablets, etc. is required. These positions require moving around the library, which includes bending and stretching to shelve items, and lifting boxes of interlibrary loan materials (up to 25 lbs.). The majority of a shift will be spent processing materials through our circulation software, setting up carts of materials for shelving and interacting with patrons and staff.

Two of the positions will be for approximately 19 hours per week, and one will be for 16 hours per week. Expect the possibility of evening and Saturday hours as part of the shifts. Please also expect scheduling changes as we move from curbside-only initially, to a partial and then full re-opening. Open hours and coverage needs will evolve until we get back to normal operating conditions.

Pay rates start at $15.50/hr. A Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university is preferred. Experience with III's Sierra software is preferred.

Please submit a cover letter, your resume, and three references to:

Jenna Mayotte
Library Director

via email only to: [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>, review of resumes will begin immediately and continue until positions are filled.

Please no phone calls, we are still closed to the public and preparing to re-open!
