For those outside the WZON listening area here's a brief wrap-up of what Coach Whitehead had to say this morning:

-HE was amazed by Ayers performance last Saturday and mentioned that he had gone to Bangor to visit him in the hospital on Friday and talked to the doctors and found out that Ayers couldn't do any more damage by playing on Saturday. (Jake's Comment:
I think its great that Coach Whitehead found the time and put in the energy to go down and see him on Friday night, I don't know that anyone knew this until now but it just shows that despite the heated rivalry and whatnot and with another big game
the next night he wanted to know how Ayers was doing. It's good to hear stuff like this)

-Whitehead also mentioned that although he hadn't done so yet, he will be calling and finding out how the surgery went during the team's ride south.

-He mentioned that it was good to see Ayers in net because its always better to face a full lineup than one that has a major piece missing. He said that the Maine guys gained much respect for Ayers in being in there after what had happened on
Friday.

- As for this weekend he felt that it wouldn't be too big a deal playing 2 different teams, its always easier after you see a team once already (unlike earlier in the season when it was UMass and UNH).

-He expects BC to be real hungry and a tough fight beccause they will play a real tough game. If Maine doesn't play smart they can find themselves in trouble. Maine has to stay out of the box.

-Heisten and Schutte were both back to full contact practice yesterday and will hopefully be ready to go for tomorrow, and if not tomorrow most likely Saturday.

-And finally, he praised the Freshman line of playing great last weekend and stressed that they contribute a lot and they do lots more than just rest the top scoring lines.

Hopefully the Bears can keep rollin'

-Jake
