Mike (and our list) -

In response to your post, and the (surprising) question -- unless it is
sarcasm, here goes:

Mike's question:

What was the scandal that took place around the UNH program?

My first post:
>
>Five students at the University of New Hampshire, including three members
>of the hockey team, have been charged in an altercation.
>
>Jayme Filipowicz, Dan Enders and forward Corey-Joe Ficek were charged with
>criminal trespassing, Durham police said. They were to be arraigned in
>early February.
>
>Athletic Director Judy Ray said she and hockey coach Dick Umile will
>determine if any action will be taken. Umile said he has known of the
>incident for a few weeks.
>
>Comment - questions:
>
>Can someone explain how this story got shoved under the rug for "a few
>weeks" ? What if this had happened elsewhere -- Some on this list would
>have had the coach bounced from the NC$$ for "cheating" if it had happened
>elsewhere. Why the pass in this case ?
>
>What about sanctions / suspensions / discipline ?

The long interval between the police event, the filing of charges, and the
first story in Foster's Daily Democrat, seemed strange to me. And the
matter is still unresolved.

See the relevant Foster's article at:

We all know that if it were Maine players in similar situations, they would
have been pilloried. New Hampshire got a pass.
