A lot has been said in praise of Shawn Walsh and his
coaching abilities and in praise of the players who
stuck with Maine through the NCAA sanctions.  I agree
with it all.  I'd also like to add Grant Stanbrook's
name to the list of those who truly deserve this
trophy.  If it were not for Grant's amazing
recruiting abilities Maine would have suffered much
more drastically during the past 4 years.  He managed
to bring top-notch talent to UMaine despite having
fewer scholarships, no TV air time (unless you want
to count all the bad press), and no tournament
exposure.  Talk about beating the odds and coming out
stronger on the other end.  Congratulations and thank
you, Grant.
