From today's Boston Globe online:

Paste the above 2 lines together or try this long line ...

There's also an article in Foster's (a New Hampshire newspaper) about the Umile interest
in the UMass job. It contains the intriguing paragraph ...

Rumors have it that Niagara coach Blaise MacDonald, Maine
coach Shawn Walsh, and the U.S. Hockey development
program s Jeff Jackson are also candidates for the position,
one of the top paying coaching jobs in Hockey East.

Note: Umile and MacDonald are among the 10 finalists for the Spencer Penrose award
(coach of the year).

Also seen recently: Dino Mattessich, Senior Associate AD at U Maine (complete title
omitted to save space), is a finalist for the UNH AD job. He will be interviewing this
Thursday at UNH. Other candidates are all ADs at smaller schools.

Non-hockey, but she did share the Alfond ... Joanne Palumbo-McCallie,
U Maine women's B-Ball coach over the past 8 years has accepted the head coaching
job at Michigan State University. She has also (today or yesterday?) just delivered
her new baby. http://www.bangordailynews.net/cgi-bin/article.cfm?storynumber=8503

Let's see ... more money, less fund raising, don't have to play in a hockey rink, bigger
school and conference, job for her husband, different school and league administrators
to deal with ... why did she leave?! :-/

Eight days to Providence!

cheers, wayne
