My 2 cents worth on what I witnessed this weekend

- This list documented several weeks ago the rising status of one Robert
Ek. After watching him this weekend all I have to say is, Who was that
guy? I was happier for him than anyone else that he was recognized on the
all tournament team. Talk about making an impression! I'm sure quite a
scouts noticed as well!

- I made mention before the BU series that if we got 2up on them I'd be
interested to see how they reacted, since they were young and relatively
inexperienced tourney wise. That was one of the most convincing wins I've
seen Maine have over a quality opponent in the last 4 years.

- I've lost a great deal of respect for Jerry York. I got home in time to
watch the 3rd of the tape delayed game (what a tragedy that this was not on
live!) and heard Jerry whining about how he would like to see a tape of the
last play. Not even Jack Parker would whine to the TV cameras after a
great event like this.

On the play did Corey haul Mottau down, Yes. Now watch the tape Jerry and
first tell us if Brian Gionta corraled the puck with his glove in the high
slot to cause the face-off, delay-of-game. On the face off either Gionta
or Allen held Ben so if the play had been to go down low to Guite that
could have been called. In essence that's hockey and we will all have to
remind ourselves of that if and when it happens to Maine.

- Colgate-Michigan, is anyone concerned that our past success against the
Wolverines could mean they're due. Go Red Raiders!

- I'm optimistic that I'll be seeing our Black Bears in Providence and look
forward to all the fun associated with that. If the team plays as well
this weekend it will take a tremendous effort to upset them.

- Kudos to the BC kids who were loud and obnoxious but who, it turns out
were much better people than the idiot Maine fan who ripped up their Gionta
sign. I hate that little Gionta, but only because he plays for them, not
us.

Finally, on neither Friday or Saturday did Shawn shake hands with the
opposing team. I am a big Shawn backer, but his detractors take note of
this and add it to their ammunition. Does anyone know why he does not
always shake hands?

Here's to Albany and all the fun things to do there?
