I must admit that this is maybe my weakest point - I
struggle when trying to introduce myself, but I'll do my
best.
I graduated from UMaine in 1996 with a BA in Political
Science. For the four years that I spent at Maine, I
played in both the marching band and pep band. I was
drum major of the marching band for two years. I loved
being at the games watching the teams and helping to get
the fans pumped up. While marching band was a lot of
fun, I don't think anything can compare to the fun we
had in pep band. As you all know it isn't difficult to
get a crowd at the Alfond excited!
I come from a hockey-fan family. My brother played
throughout his childhood and actually skated with the
Northeastern hockey team in his first year of college.
Growing up in my family, I couldn't help but love hockey.
After school I moved back home to Lynn, Massachusetts
and I currently work as a financial analyst for Tufts
University. I'd tell you what that means, only I never
took accounting classes at Maine, so I just kind of do
what I'm told and learn as I go! I also am a part-time
grad student at Tufts and will be graduating with my
master's degree in May from the Fletcher School of Law &
Diplomacy.
In my "free time" I love watching the hockey team when
they come down to Portland, New Hampshire, Boston or
Providence and the list has been a great way for me to
keep up with all the latest news about the team.
So that's about all I can think of at the moment, but
most of all, I look forward to working with all the
members of the list to help it to grow and continue to
be a great place to keep up with the latest news on
UMaine hockey.
Respectfully,
Beth
