The University of Maine Black Bears defeated UMass-Lowell Friday night 4-0
and by virtue of Merrimack's 1-0 triumph over Northeastern the Black Bears
have moved into a tie for the 4th and final home ice spot.  Maine needs to
gain one more point on the Huskies as NU owns the tiebreaker against Maine.
 
With the win, Maine also officially clinches a spot in the Hockey East
playoffs.
 
Other developments in college hockey look good for Maine, more on that later.
