Ready for more stats? Hockey East this time, here is where Maine
players rank...

SCORING:

Steve Kariya (4-18--22) ranks 3rd in Hockey East in scoring. Brian
Gionta (9-18--27) is first followed by Jason Krog (10-15--25). Gionta
has only 4 penalty minutes, while Kariya has 6.. an interesting stat.

GOALTENDING:

Alfie Michaud is a distant 2nd to UNH's Ty Conklin in goaltending.
Conklin is a perfect 5-0 in league play with a stellar 1.01 goals
against average and a .952 save percentage. Michaud is 7-2-1 in league
contests with a 2.19 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

GOALS:

Dan Kerluke's team-leading 16 goals are 5th in Hockey East, while Steve
Kariya's 14 goals have him tied for 6th in the league in overall goals.
In Hockey East games, David Cullen's 6 goals are a team best, which is
a distant 13th, believe it or not.

ASSISTS:

Steve Kariya is tied for the Hockey East lead with 18 assists in league
games. Overall, Kariya is tied for third with 24.

POWER-PLAY GOALS:

Earlier it was noted David Cullen led Maine with 6 goals in league
games, well, 5 of those 6 goals have come on the power play, putting
Cullen 2nd in the league. Steve Kariya is tied for 4th overall with 6
PPG and Cullen's 5 ranks him tied for 6th overall.

GAME WINNING GOALS:

Freshman Barrett Heisten is tied for 3rd in Hockey East play with 2
game winning goals. Maine has certainly shared the wealth in game
winning goals overall, Cory Larose leads the way with 3 GWG, but
Heisten, Brendan Walsh, Marcus Gustafsson, Dan Kerluke and Steve Kariya
all have 2 GWG. Can't just focus on one Black Bear late in the game.

SHUTOUTS:

Alfie Michaud is the only goaltender to post a Hockey East shutout this
year, with his 5-0 whitewash of UMass. Michaud has 2 overall shutouts
to lead Hockey East.
