Views on HE officiating (always) vary with the winning / losing fans,
depending on whom you speak to. The players themselves in the game know who
came to play, or if they didn't come to play that night. Of the leagues best
official (HE) any one Referee does not influence the outcome of any one game,
but can set the rhythm and the number of water bottles the end up on the
ice............( right J.P. ? )

All officials will miss some calls, and I believe they call what they see,
and make split-second mental mistakes on other things they think they see.
Let's not get like the typical UNH fan who blames a game-loss on bad
officiating, and game win on the teams' superior effort......
( re: BC back-to-back wins over UNH recently UNH fans think they were robbed )

It is no mystery why Mr Coles is now the HE-Ref man in charge; when he was a
referee, he got the call for the BIG HE play-off games. He was the most
consistent every nite he was in the stripes.

If there is any short-sightedness on any officiating, the right guy (Coles)
is in the right place to fix the problem (if there is one at all).
