Why?

Do you also think Shawn Walsh is also a symbol of what is wrong in sports
today?

We've had this discussion on the list before, but like it or not folks,
Shawn Walsh and Jack Parker are more similar than they are different.  Both
are tough competitors who have been known to use all the tricks at their
disposal to win.  They can and do rub people the wrong way and generally
either you love or hate them.

Of course, Maine fans tend to love Shawn unconditionally and hate Parker..
also unconditionally and likely most all of us here fall into this.  There
are good reasons for this that we mercifully do not need to rehash.  But
let's be fair here.  Parker has done (and does) things we do not all agree
with, but we (as Maine fans) of all people should not be demonizing him as
we have often been outspoken and emotional on this list in defense of Shawn
Walsh and against those who speak evil of both the person and the coach.  We
should know better and be better.
