Today's BDN article entitled 'Minnesota signs UMaine star Larose' is
incorrect in one rather significant aspect.  Cory has signed a three,
not a two year contract.  At the NHL level, this is a pretty significant
difference financially and in the long term development of the pro
player.
 
The operative principle here was to take less of a signing bonus and
more of a longer term contract.  The signing bonus mentioned in the
article was rather conservative on Mr. Mahoney's part.
