There is something about food in the 'Europe of the setting' chapter
of Guide. Honestly, I'm much more interested in cooking than personal
habits of Ezra. That is to say, what things man eats is also part of a
culture. The sane conduct of a cultivated man would be not fan-like.
But since Ezra knew much, he could be of help -- just as Greeks cited
Homer on all the subjects, not because they were fans of him, but
because they felt him to be of much authority, being a great learner.
