Though there are some points of intersection on the level of the atemporal and archetypal personality/psyche/soul, one might say that these two authors, Pound and Faulkner, are nearly opposites: Faulkner's isolated Yoknapatawpha County versus Pound's cosmopolitanism of time and place. Pound's emphasis on social action and public use of language versus Faulkner's focus on psychology and the private languages people use when they are thinking to themselves.
