Dear EPOUNDers,

I wanted to take a moment to urge those of you who are MLA members carefully
to read the Candidate Information Booklet and conscientiously to vote for
Delegates you feel best represent the interests of you and your students.

Among the many names on the ballots you have just received (or will shortly
receive) is mine. Allow me to take a moment to correct some information that
appears in the Candidate Information Booklet.

Since I wrote my statement (which appears on page 20), I have taken a
full-time teaching job at Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Like two-year schools in the East, two-year schools in the West will be
charged with educating under-prepared students in ever larger numbers; central
to my concerns for these students is vocal and proper representation in MLA,
in which, I regret, these students have been sorely underrepresented.

Again, I urge you to review the candidates' statements and to vote your and
your students' interests.

Jon Ausubel
