JB said he was offended because "Wei made public a backchannel post from me
without asking for
my consent."  Misunderstanding on this score may stem from cultural
differences, from differences in personality, or other factors.  I can say,
in all honesty, that because the post was precisely on a subject discussed
on the listserv, namely, on whether or not it would be fruitful to discuss
Pound's religion (apart from political considerations), that I did not feel
I was betraying a confidence.

To JB, I can only say, I had no intention of offending.  I am sorry if my
action caused you discomfort.
