Pound's concepts of Metamorphosis and the Image were never far from his mind
especially when engaged in translation.  For the Image don't use the "how of
Imagism" (pg 3 of "Literary Essays" but rather Pound's "what of Imagism" ,
pg 4 of "Literary Essays" (first paragraph under "A Few Don'ts).

I, also,  seem to recall an allusion to "Seafarer" being in "The Cantos" but
don't have the memory of where.

Some translation references.  Most all of the critical works on Pound's
Chinese efforts have good info on his translation habits.
