I cannot add any light to this discussion, but I can
add some confusion.
A long time ago (decades ago) I read a book on Chinese
philosophy which claimed that the Chung Yung and Ta Hsio
were late works of neo-Confucianism, deliberately
blending Confucianism with Taoism to make a more
syncretic system. Alas, I cannot rememeber either the
author or title of this reference, but maybe somebody
can find it....?
Pound translated these works in the DTC at Pisa,
under the titles The Unwobbling Pivot and the Great Digest.
If my foggy souce is right,he was absorbing a lot of
Taoism whether he knew it or not.
